When I first became an artist I was in the hospital with asthma at barely age two and the nurse gave me crayons. The nurse was amazed- I was drawing actual pictures, not scribbling, and I have been drawing and painting ever since. The voices in my head wont let me stop...☺
For me art is a way to express complex emotions and give shape to what I feel at any given moment. It is a way of dealing with everything that is jumbled up in my head, how I experience the world around me.
I want to explore all styles of art, and continue experimenting with different art forms. I never want to become stagnant as an artist. I want to allow myself to develop new ideas, and to always have a fresh outlook on my art. I think I might have been born in the wrong era, but if it means being a starving artist, thats okay. Id rather starve doing something that is my lifeblood, than be rich doing something boring.

Norwegian American Artist, Kimberly Helgeson Sams, grew up on a 40 acre ranch that bordered 200 acres of pure wilderness, surrounded by animals and nature. Her art is influenced greatly by her unconventional home schooling education, giving her more time to develop her own unique style at an early age . Her supportive parents allowed her to explore her love of art and encouraged her to pursue a career in the arts. Her most recent accomplishment was painting a giant wall mural with her husband for a local market place, and a gallery showing at the Out of Our Minds Gallery in Spokane, Washington.
Her award winning art has been featured on 2 WA State Dairy Goat Council Newsletters, the Deer Park Fair Premium Book Cover, Advertising Posters & Programs for Boise Little Theater, etc. Her originals and prints are quickly becoming popular around the globe
