My name is Diane Casey, and I am a self-taught New York City artist. I like to paint in bright, bold, colorful and whimsical styles. I work with watercolors, acrylics, and oil pastels.

I believe an important purpose of art is to delight. Being a naturally curious person, I often experiment with color and texture, and I believe my artwork reflects this in a visually stimulating and interesting way. I have never had any formal art school training, but I just love creating art, and hope it makes you smile, too!

My interests: I have always been a HUGE music fan, (especially rock and roll) and NRBQ (New Rhythm & Blues Quartet) is my favorite band (as evidenced in my username!) I also like the Beatles, the Jam, Lucinda Williams, Jonathan Richman, Cake, Soul Coughing, TMBG, Tom Waits and countless others.

Sometimes I create musically inspired paintings, and sometimes I create other types, but the main idea I like to express through my artwork is a sense of humor and FUN!
